Esprit de Cuisine by Appolia 5 Quart Boat Baker, Gingerbread

Love using this large boat baker!
I've used this beautiful baker to roast huge amounts of vegetables in the oven. I've also baked fish fillets covered with vegetables and sauce. It roasted both dishes quickly and evenly. The baker has a really good weight on it. I find the shape to be interesting, not necessarily an advantage or disadvantage, and it's also quite deep. It also has grooves on either end that can function as pouring spouts. I do like the smooth glossy glazed finish, making it easier to clean. I will use it to roast meats as well, as it's a really large roaster. It's also made in France, is lead and cadmium free and compares well to Pillivuyt, Revol, and Apilco (which I think Appolia may be a subsidiary of, not sure though) bakeware. I roasted at 425 degrees and it didn't crack or craze so I would recommend this product.

I've been using my Appolia for years, and it's never crazed or cracked. I wash it in the dishwasher. Save for the time when I whacked a handle in to a granite counter, it's never broken, either. It's tough for ceramic- but not as touch as granite, obviously. I like to use the boat baker with the fish bakers. They come in the same colors, and it's quite festive. Also, if you do fourth of...
